"iVDR's International Standardization get started at ISO/IEC JTC1."
iVDR Hard Disk Drive Consortium has started International Standardization activities of iVDR specifications,
in order to attempt a further spread promotion of the iVDR products. At the end of July in 2008,
for the first step of International Standardization, we proposed NP (document number : SC23/N1520) of iVDR hardware specification as an international proposal item, from Japan NB to the world through ISO/IEC JTC1. We are aiming at the Approval of International Standard in the end of 2009.
Purpose of this iVDR's International Standardization activities are 1. Promotion of iVDR products, 2. Market expansion by international procurement (Example : WTO/TBT Agreement) , 3. Risk decrease (Example : Antimonopoly Law) and so on.
