With the future use of DLNA* standard to connect home network devices, it will be possible to save digital content onto iVDR cartridges via iVDR slots built into the devices. This content can then be kept as a library and viewed any time, anywhere.
Protected content can be converted from DTCP-IP** to SAFIA and vice versa.
*DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) is an industry organization founded in June 2003. Its mission is to formulate industry guidelines to support the manufacture of compatible home appliances, mobile devices and PCs and to establish home networks using such compatible appliances and devices.
**DTCP-IP is a version of DTCP (Digital Transmission Content Protection), already in use with IEEE 1394, that has been adopted for use with IP networks. DTCP-IP is a technical standard for transmitting digital content protected by DRM (Digital Rights Management) over home LAN connections.
